Mechanics of NFP Financial Statements


In this Easy Guide module, participants learn how to interpret the financial statements of their non-profit organization.  This board training module takes approximately 36 minutes. It is presented in 3 parts:

Part 1 – What’s Under the Hood?
Participants learn the importance of each component in their non-profit financial report. They also gain confidence in interpreting the key financial information included in each component of the accountant’s report. 
Part 2 – How to Diagnose.
Participants have an opportunity to practise applying what they learned in Part 1. They learn the key financial health checks that can be used to assess the fiscal well-being of the organization.
Part 3 – Ongoing Maintenance. 
Participants are introduced to the financial governance DASHBOARD, a tool that increases the effectiveness of any board. By using the DASHBOARD, your board will govern better and save time in the process.
