Do you like what you’re doing right now?

Do you like what you’re doing right now? Is this your passion? If not, why are you doing it?

In order to find our purpose and passion in life, we must become aware of who we are. Finding our passion helps us reach our potential.

It starts with knowing yourself. This includes your strengths and blind spots, your interests and opportunities. You must be able to gauge not only where you have been, but where you are going. Otherwise, you are liable to get lost.

John Maxwell tells us, “You have to know who you are to grow to your potential. But you have to grow in order to know who you are.” To grow, he suggests we focus on what is REAL: relationships, equipping, attitude and leadership.

His passion and self-awareness helped John Maxwell become an internationally recognized expert in leadership development. Fortune 500 companies, international government leaders and many other organizations rely on John Maxwell for inspiration and advice.

Living your passion gives you energy and focus, and it makes each day an adventure. To find your passion, you need to know the difference between who you are and what you are good at. Look for what drives you. Think about what makes you jump out of bed in the morning.

Consider these questions:

  • What gives you satisfaction?
  • Why do you love those activities and experiences?
  • What are your unique talents?
  • How can you put those talents to work?

Darren Hardy, the publisher of SUCCESS magazine says, “Picture where you are in any area of your life right now. Now picture where you want to be. The first step toward change is awareness. If you want to go from where you are to where you want to be, you have to start by becoming aware of the choices that led you away from your desired destination.”

You can’t change direction if you aren't aware that you’ve been heading the wrong way. Spend some time really thinking about where you are presently headed and where you want to go. Be aware of who you are. Find your passions and you will immediately have an advantage over so many others who only have interests.
