Visualize Your Success and Happiness

The Power of Imagination

You may think dreams are for sleeping, that they are mere fantasies we use to amuse ourselves. But what we hold in our imagination grows more powerful every day. The first step in achieving the life we want is to form a clear picture.

Give Possibilities Space to Grow

Our imaginations are free. Where the analytical part of our brains might see only limitations, our imagination sees possibilities. If we allow our imagination to explore, it will paint a vivid picture of the fullest potential we can achieve.

We will see not only what we need, but how to get there. As Gloria Steinem said, "Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."

Be a Super Achiever

Super achievers have unusual clarity about their purpose, mission, vision, and goals. They do this by applying a key principle of success: See what you want; get what you see.

We recommend that you spend time every day imagining what you desire, how your life will be once that dream is fulfilled, and the steps you will take along the journey. Invest in your success and happiness by taping into the power your imagination.

How Visualization Helped Me

Many years ago, I dreamed of becoming a successful female entrepreneur. I knew what I wanted most of all was to connect with people. Like every person in business, I had moments of triumph and disappointment, and I welcomed them all. Throughout my journey, I have continued to dream in vivid detail and it has sustained me through even the most difficult times.

Visualization Can Help You Too

Recently a young woman named Brooke worked with me. When she began the Leading the Life You Desire training program, she did not know what she wanted. But as she let her imagination run free, she began to get a picture of what she really wants and how she can make it happen.

"For most of my life," she said, "I struggled to find meaning or purpose because I could never figure out what I really wanted. Working with Colette, we were able to dig deep with who I am, my personality, strengths and weaknesses, goals and aspirations, and ultimately—what I desire in life: Who do I want to be? How can I get there?"

Finding Possibilities in Challenging Times

When the pandemic started, my vision was put to a whole new test. I still wanted most of all to connect with people, but now I had to do it in a world where in-person gatherings were limited. I followed the same process I coached Brooke through. In spite of the restrictions, I dared to keep dreaming for the results I wanted and I started to see new steps for getting there.

We pivoted our training programs to an online model without losing the most essential ingredient—person-to-person connection and growth. Coaching is still the best way to take people through our Leading the Life You Desire program, only now I do it virtually.

Call to Action

Don't take my word for it. Try visualization for yourself and see if it makes a difference. Let us know how it goes.

  1. Take 15 minutes today to visualize what you dream of without restraint.
  2. Tomorrow, return to that dream and imagine what your life would be like if you followed those passions.
  3. The day after that, imagine in detail the steps it would take to fulfill your dreams.

"Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality." This was spoken by a man named Jonas Salk. He was a medical researcher and virologist who developed one of the first successful polio vaccines.
